Digital Membership Cards
All members should expect to receive an email with a link to download your digital card. Be on the look-out for it; it will be sent to the email address associated with your membership. Please access this email from your smartphone and follow the instructions provided.
If you have two named members on your account, and we have an email for each, both members will receive an email and each member should download their own separate card.
To update the email address associated with your membership contact us at [email protected].
Digital Membership Cards FAQs
Why is The Ringling switching to digital e-cards?
The Ringling strives to provide an exceptional experience for our members. Aligning with our strategic vision to maximize accessibility and improve communications with our members, this transition to digital membership cards will allow us to streamline our membership process and reduce costs associated with printing and distributing membership cards. The digital cards provide a contactless method for delivering membership benefits. We estimate that we can reduce our carbon footprint by approximately 347 pounds of CO this year alone—the equivalent of 8,675 sheets of printing paper.
Additionally, moving to digital cards allows our staff to allocate more resources to focusing on delivering outstanding membership benefits including– engaging programs and events, and exceptional customer service.
How do I benefit from digital cards as a member?
Digital membership cards will allow you to download your membership card to your iPhone or Android wallet app so that you don’t have to worry about lost or misplaced membership cards. This app can then be used to scan your digital membership card on-site for streamlined Museum Admission. In the future, we hope to also simplify renewal processes and communications through digital cards.
How do I add the membership card to my Smartphone?
iPhones:
Access the email from your smartphone and click the “Download” button, then click “Add to Wallet” and “Add.” The card will automatically go to your iPhone’s Apple Wallet. It can be accessed in your Wallet at any time.
Androids:
Android users need to download Wallet Passes or Google Wallet from Google Play. After you have the app, access the email from your smartphone and click “Download” in the membership email, and the card will automatically go to your wallet app, where it can be accessed at any time.
Please note: You can open the card in an internet browser on your computer and can print a hard copy if you would like. However, the digital cards can not be added to your Wallet app from a computer, so please plan to access the email from your smartphone.
How do I use the digital membership card?
During this initial transition to digital cards, please plan to continue to check in at the Member Desk whether you are using a digital card or a printed card. In time, we hope to implement additional automated processes for check-in at the Visitors Pavilion and will share more information as it becomes available.
When will I get my digital membership card?
Currently active Ringling members should all receive an email on August 1, 2023 that will contain a link to download your digital membership card. Members who renew after August 1, 2023, can expect to receive the email within a few weeks of renewing their membership.
Will this impact my Member for a Day Passes?
No, the digital membership cards will not impact your Member for a Day passes. The passes will continue to be issued with your current membership and will display in our system. These passes can be redeemed as usual, either on site when you check-in with your guest, or printed on request.
My family member (childcare helper, personal care attendant) is on this membership account also, how can she/he receive the card?
If you are visiting with a childcare helper or personal care attendant, they can simply check in with you when you go through admissions.
I downloaded my card, but I can’t find it.
If you have an iPhone, the card will automatically download to Apple Wallet. Check the app for your new card (scroll through any cards that are already there–it may be hiding!).
If you have an Android, you’ll need to download Google Wallet or Wallet Passes app from the Play Store prior to downloading the card.
I’d prefer not to use this digital membership card, or don’t have a smartphone. What should I do?
We understand some of our members do not have smartphones or email available as an option. Please contact the membership department at [email protected] or call 941-360-7330 and we will update your record so that you will receive a printed card.
