Exciting Update: Homeschool Third Thursday Now a Semester-Long Course for Grades 3 & Up!

We’re thrilled to announce that Homeschool Third Thursday, our popular monthly program, will now be offered as a semester-long course for students in grades 3 and up! This engaging, hands-on learning experience will continue to be held every third Thursday of the month, but now with a deeper focus on grade-level curriculum and more opportunities to explore art, history, and wonder at The Ringling over the course of the semester. This format allows each session to build on the last, helping students deepen their understanding and skills throughout the semester.

Fall 2025 Theme: Ringling Time Travelers

For the Fall 2025 semester, students will become Ringling Time Travelers, exploring various time periods represented in the Ringling Collection. Each session will focus on a different era, giving students the chance to learn about art and history through the lens of different cultures and time periods. From ancient civilizations to contemporary art, students will dive into the stories and artistic styles of the past, creating art inspired by each time period.

Program Details:

• When: Every third Thursday of the month, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
• For: Students in grades 3 & up
• Cost: This program is FREE! (Museum admission included)

How to Participate: Pre-registration is required for the full Fall 2025 semester, and tickets are limited. When you register, you’ll reserve one ticket for the entire semester, which covers all monthly sessions. Tickets will be available online on July 1. Limited walk-ins are welcome as space allows (for children 18 and under).

What to Expect:

• Monthly Exploration of time periods from the Ringling Collection
• Hands-On Art Making: Guided projects related to each era
• Guided Gallery Experiences: A Ringling representative will guide participants through the galleries and objects, providing expert insights and enriching the exploration of each time period
• Cross-Curricular Learning: Connections to history, science, English/Language Arts, and more
• Scaffolded Learning: Each session builds on the previous one, allowing students to deepen their understanding and skills over the course of the semester
• Extended Learning: Discussion questions, activities, and lesson plans to continue the learning at home

For Families with Younger Siblings:

Siblings are welcome to attend Homeschool Third Thursday; however, please keep in mind that the program is specifically designed for students in grades 3 and up. The activities, discussions, and projects will be geared toward this age group, and younger children may not be able to engage fully.
