Ringling Museum to Extend Special Savings to Florida Residents Beginning Aug. 15, 2008

SARASOTA, Fla. – Aug. 15, 2008 –Florida residents and families will continue to enjoy substantial savings at The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art with the extension of the “30 Days of Discovery” 2 for 1 offer on admission for Florida residents.  This extends the promotion to 60 days at the Ringling Museum. The “30 Days of Discovery” extension will begin on Aug. 15, 2008 and end on Oct. 15, 2008.

“By extending September’s “30 Days of Discovery” promotion into August and October, we are giving economically-strapped Florida residents the opportunity to do more with less,” said Dr. John Wetenhall, Executive Director of the Ringling Museum. “We want to help by extending the opportunity for them to visit the State Art Museum of Florida at the 2 for 1 discount for an extra month. We continue to support the 30 Days of Discovery program that will make our eight regional museums accessible during September.”  

The “30 Days of Discovery” promotion offers 2 for 1 admission for Florida residents to eight area attractions during September 2008.  The following venues are participating in the September promotion: Crowley Museum and Nature Center, Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, Historic Spanish Point, Mote Aquarium, The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, G. WIZ

The Hands-On Science Museum, Sarasota Jungle Gardens and South Florida Museum. The Sarasota Convention and Visitor Bureau provides support for the promotion. The extension of the “30 Days of Discovery” offer will also make it easier for Florida residents to visit all eight attractions participating in the promotion.

The extension of the “30 Days of Discovery” offer only applies to visitors to the Ringling Museum. The offer is not valid at the other participating attractions in the “30 Days of Discovery” promotion during Aug. 15-31 and Oct. 1-15.

General Admission includes the Ringling Museum of Art, special exhibitions, Cà d’Zan Mansion, Circus Museum, Mable’s historic Rose Garden and Florida’s only rose test gardens, all on 66 acres of lushly landscaped grounds. Adults are $19; senior citizens (65 and over) are $16; children ages 6-17 are $6. Free Admission for children 5 and under accompanied by an adult, museum members.
