Featured Instructors May thru September Noelle Segal, the founder of Family Tree Yoga understands the strain of daily life, which is why everyone, especially families, should consider yoga as their primary restoration to health. Several factors in life can slow you down: body aches and pains, lack of sleep or confidence, weight issues, anxiety… or even a simple case of the blues. And these factors are not limited to adults; children can feel the same tensions in their lives. Every member of the family can create their own unique yoga experience at Noelle’s studio, which specializes in family, Mommy & Me, pre-natal, and teen classes. Cheryl Chaffee is the owner and director of the Garden of the Heart Yoga Center. Since 2005, she has taught alignment-based Hatha yoga at local studios and gyms in Sarasota and New York. She taught at the Rasa-Lila Festival in Orlando, and participated on the main stages at Rasa-Lila and BhaktiFest in California as a kirtan artist. She also does 1-on-1 yoga therapy sessions for students with injuries. Cheryl loves the flexibility that a career in yoga has provided her, and strives to bring that flexibility to her students of all ages and abilities, from preschoolers to seniors, from beginners through advanced practitioners. Kelly Atkins discovered yoga in 2000 as a practice that helps her stay balanced, present, and able to handle motherhood with a busy business schedule. Known for her clear direction and sincere nature, Kelly is also known in the community for her dance classes. She's currently teaching and developing a movement practice called "kai" that blends dance with yoga. It is a fitness and lifestyle practice that is inspired by nature. She also teaches Hot Yoga at BodyHeatsarasota.
Lynn Burgess and her studio Yoga from the Heart have been serving the Sarasota community for over 15 years. When you take a class from Lynn, the first thing you notice is the passion with which she teaches. Her tremendous energy and just plain happiness sweep you along so that a demanding physical “workout” into an all-absorbing, inspirational experience. Her steady pace and attention to detail leave you feeling grounded, connected and more aware of the nuances of your body and mind. Her alignment-based approach weaves intelligent sequencing with clear instructions, anatomical awareness, individual adjustments, and philosophy. Lynn credits her primary teacher, Rodney Yee, as well as her ongoing studies in Eastern philosophy, Western psychology, and Functional Movement for inspiring her teaching.
Liana Sheintal Bryant is the Director of Rosemary Court Yoga, a yoga studio located in downtown Sarasota which offers a plethora of yoga styles for all levels. Her studio is recognized as "a favorite with visitors and residents" for the quality of instruction and "sense of welcoming calm" by Sarasota Magazine. A Sarasota native, Liana recently returned back home after teaching and running yoga studios in Washington, DC and New York City. As a lululemon athletica ambassador alum, in both DC and Sarasota, she enjoys sharing her love for yoga in the community.
