Paul Getty Museum Join us for this talk that presents a survey of the remarkable career of American photographer, Herb Ritts (1952-2002),best known for his innovative approach to fashion, his modern yet classical treatment of the nude, and his intimate portraits of celebrities. At the heart of Ritts’s phenomenal success as a photographer was his ability to draw inspiration from a variety of sources and create new work that was not only instantly recognizable as his own, but also a powerful reflection of the desires of his generation. Reception and book signing follows the program.
